Welcome to Daxer & Marschall

Daxer & Marschall is an art dealership specializing in European painting from the 16th to the 20th century and is one of the leading experts in 19th-century art. The gallery was founded in 1986 by its director and art historian Marcus Marschall. Since then, the gallery has been successfully active worldwide in the field of art brokerage for museums and private collectors.

Daxer & Marschall’s services include, among other things, research, the preparation of publications, the organization of exhibitions as well as the purchase and sale of artworks.

The Team

Marcus Marschall

Managing Director

Marcus Marschall looks back on more than thirty years of professional experience as an art dealer, having worked internationally from the very beginning. He studied art history in Germany and is a renowned expert in 19th-century art and plein-air painting. His career began as curator of the art collection of his former business partners Hanns Daxer and Louise Daxer-Piech. In 1985, with their support, Marcus Marschall founded the company Daxer & Marschall, of which he has been the sole shareholder since 1993.

Simone Brenner

Art research
Gallery Management

Simone Brenner is responsible for art research at Daxer & Marschall. She studied art history in Germany with a focus on Italian art. After completing her studies, she gained initial experience in the auction market and worked in museums in both northern and southern Germany. She has been part of the Daxer & Marschall team since 2008.
